Rolling out its new digital entertainment solution, wifi-based streaming IFE service

easyJet rolls out AirFi's in-flight entertainment system

The low-cost carrier is making significant strides in the market for in-flight entertainment. It is rolling out AirFi in 135 of its Airbus A320 fleet. Passengers can use the system's free local WiFi network to access games and trip-specific entertainment on mobile phones or laptops using AirFi's "revolutionary" portable streaming solution.

Geared up

“We saw with the trial program in October that AirFi has got the right stuff to support us as we introduce digital solutions for the convenience and benefit of our customers,” noted Simon Cox, easyJet’s Director of Inflight Retail.

“AirFi has been able to meet our ambitious timelines for this project and have integrated well with our existing partners.”

While the airline focused on customer satisfaction and AirFi’s reliability during the trial period, it noticed a sharp decline in paper waste too due to the digitization of its in-flight magazines and menus. Presently easyJet has equipped 135 aircraft, and following the system's success, AirFi will be installed on another 108 aircraft based in continental Europe.

About AirFi- An inflight entertainment system

AirFi is a portable In-Flight Entertainment solution delivering innovations that the airline crew and passengers love. The best part of this revolutionary IFE system is that it does not require the aircraft to be taken out of service during the upgrade, streamlining its introduction to service.
