Famous for non-stop flights between underserved routes across the U.S. at affordable fares, Breeze Airways is planning to add some international destinations to its flight network. According to a statement released by Luke Johnson, the CCO of Breeze Airways, the airline is in the process of obtaining the necessary approvals to operate flights on international routes. It is anticipated that the airline would make a formal statement soon.
Breeze Airways is a U.S. airline based in Cottonwood Heights, Utah, that offers service to 34 destinations across the country. It was established in 2018 by aviation entrepreneur David Neeleman. The carrier focuses mostly on neglected cities often termed “underserved cities” and offers some of the most liberal cancellation and change fees up to 15 minutes prior to departure. The air carrier, therefore, brands itself as a "Seriously Nice" airline.
The airline offers flight tickets in three classes of services- the Nice, Nicer, and Nicest. While Nicer and Nicest are comparable to premium economy and business classes respectively, Nice is equivalent to other airlines' basic economy.
The decision by Breeze Airways to expand its flight network by including international destinations comes as travel demand is finally returning to pre-pandemic levels. It also happens to coincide with the airline's current rapid expansion of its flight network. Just a week before, the airline added three new routes.
The airline must still receive FAA approval before it can begin operating international flights. It will eventually become clear whether adding overseas routes was a profitable move for the airline, and other airlines will undoubtedly be keeping a careful eye on developments to see whether or not they should follow a similar path.
We wish Breeze Airways make “Seriously Nice” profits from its new routes.
